Reasons For Raising Chickens

It is not much of a trouble raising chickens and there are a number of good reasons for people to breed chicken in their own back garden.

One of the reasons for raising chickens is that you will not have to make an extra effort to feed the chicken as they enjoy eating leftovers and have an amazing desire to eat. You may not believe it but chicken can eat just about anything, even chicken! You can also save yourself from the worry of food decaying in your fridge or feel remorseful about throwing it in the trash. Chicken can be fed on that and you will save money on the feeding cost also. On the other hand you should be careful about the food you give them as some food can be fatal for the chicken. Onions and garlic should be avoided as far as possible.

One of the major advantages of raising chicken is that you will get fresh eggs for your meals. We all love egg in no matter what way they are cooked. There are all kinds of pets in the house who do not present you any benefits other than meows and woofs. None of the general pets can furnish you with something which you can eat, other than the chicken.

Fresh eggs are available any time you need it. There is no denying that eggs which are just laid taste much better, raw or cooked and they are also more nutritious than the eggs which are bought from the store. The feel and the color of the fresh egg is also very different from the ones you purchase from the grocer.

Raising chickens in an indirect way is a very good resource of natural fertilizer and your backyard or garden will look great. Chicken move around all over the place and will eat whatever they find edible. This will help keep your yard free of pests like earwigs, beetles or any of the crawling creatures which can be a nuisance for you. Chicken are more reliable than any other way of keeping your garden free of pests.

It is not only this but after digesting the stuff chicken has eaten it is excreted as poop, which is no ordinary poop but is very good organic fertilizer for the plants and the soil. It will help you to maintain a lovely garden. Isn't that great!

You do not have to spend a lot of time or money while raising chicken. For example if you have a pet dog you will have to groom him daily to keep his fur smooth and shiny, you don't have to bother about that while raising chicken. All you have to do is to give them clean water to drink and food to eat.

It is important to clean the pad maybe two to three times in a month but then you can collect all the eggs which have been laid as a bonus. You also have the option of starting a small enterprise by selling fresh eggs or even chicken meat.
